The Purple Purr is also good - I ask for some of the blueberry mix to be added which makes it even better! The beer taps are populated with craft beers, and there is a good selection of wines. My favorite is the Russian Blue this is possibly my favorite cocktail anywhere. I like the cocktails, all of which have cate-themed names. The cod in chowder is also excellent, and it is unique to the Fat Cat. Especially recommended are the grain of the day, which is generally a pasta dish with seafood of some kind (it varies with the whim of the chef and the availability of fresh ingredients). The sister location, Passport in Weymouth, has been getting the bulk of attention since it opened to great acclaim a little more than 18 months ago. We're looking forward to the day, hopefully soon, when the Fat Cat gets a face lift. We've never waited long with this method, even when the place was otherwise packed. ![]() The bar seating is managed by the bartenders, so if you'd like a seat, let them know when you place your drinks order. We rarely sit at a table because the bar is so much fun, and this works well when it is just the two of us. Something like 900 lbs of chicken wings are sold on Super Bowl Sunday, which boggles the mind. The mac and cheese is available in many permutations, but the lobster version wins hands down. The mac and cheese and chicken wings are legendary. The food is great, the service is good, and the vibe is happy. The Fat Cat is eternally popular, packed all days of the week, even when the rest of Quincy Center is dead.
